Canciones - Bonnie "Prince" Billy

Bonnie “Prince” Billy – After I Made Love To You del album “Ease Down The Road” del 2001

Will Oldham es el verdadero nombre de Bonnie “Prince” Billy que también publicó sus primeros discos bajo los nombres de Palace Brothers, Palace Music y el suyo propio.

Bonnie Prince Billy - After I Made Love To You

eloquent, i soon retire
to nothing else i may aspire
after ive made love to you

in the dark i see you glisten
to your breath i lay and listen
after ive made love to you

in your arms im softly resting
memories of you undressing
and your lips my final blessing
i never knew the embrace that id been lacking
has been found with kisses smacking
and two bodies there attacking
i and you baby why dont we feel guilty?
whys it seem were doing right?
when were doing something filthy
in a rented room tonight
i think its cause we love the now
we love forever love and how
and my lifes your love anyway
and your lifes my love everyday
you are mine o now forever
think of you always wherever
after ive made love to you
after ive made love to you

Encontré un par de videos chulos con otras grandes canciones de Bonnie Prince Billy en YouTube y también las voy a poner que es muy difícil sólo poner una canción de este gran cantante.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy – “A Minor Place” y “I see the darkness” ambas canciones del disco "I see the darkness" del 1999

A minor place

I've been to a minor place
and I can say I like its face
if I am gone and with no trace
I will be in a minor place

well I put the shoes in line
separate the women mine
as we do what we do fine
so victorious, so benign

chorus

only take the weather warm
and the job that does me harm
the scars of last year's storm
rest like maggots on my arm

chorus

thank you man if for the thought
that all my loving can be bought
was wisely in your gullet caught
before my loyalty you sought

chorus

o it's not a desert nor a web
nor a tomb where I lay dead
minor in a sound alone
yes a clear commanding tone

singing from my little point
and aching in my every joint
I thank the world it will anoint me
if I show it how I hold it

I see the darkness (Johnny Cash tiene una versión de esta canción en donde el propio Will Oldham hace coros)

Well you're my friend
(It's what you told me anyway)
And can you see
(What's inside of me anyway)
Many times we've been out drinking
And many times we've shared our thoughts
But did you ever, ever notice
The kind of thoughts I got
Well you know I have a love
A love for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive
To live I won't let go
But can you see it's opposition
Comes rising up sometimes
That it's dreadful and position
Comes blacking in my mind

And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And did you know how much I love you
Is a hope that somehow you
Can save me from this darkness

Well I hope that someday, buddy
We have peace in our lives
Together or apart
Alone or with our wives
That we can stop our whoring
And pull the smiles inside
And light it up forever
And never go to sleep
My best unbeaten brother
This isn't all I see

Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
Is a hope that somehow you you
Can save me from this darkness
